Julie has built her financial planning practice since 2001 with a focus on technical expertise and strong ability to connect people with resources to improve their financial lives.  Her focus on education has continued since graduating Bethel University in 2001.

As a resident of Plymouth, Julie and her husband Jason make every effort to impact others in their community through a variety of outreach activities and events. In their spare time, they enjoy participating in a number of recreational activities such as running, gardening, volleyball, and yoga.

Julie and Jason are proud parents of Roman (age 8), Dominic (age 5), and Carter (age 3).

I'm most passionate about ensuring my clients have a high return on life. This generally includes providing peace of mind through comprehensive financial planning where clients have entrusted my team and I with a very important aspect of their lives.

Jason joined Northwestern Mutual in April 2016 and works primarily with our business clients.  This includes 401K implementation, employee benefits, business valuations, mergers and acquisitions, buy/sell agreements, succession planning, key person planning, rent vs lease analysis, Income Statement and Balance Sheet projections, and various other financial modeling.

Jason has 15 years of experience as a Corporate Finance professional working across several different industries and businesses at both Land O’ Lakes and General Mills.  This skillset is unique within a Wealth Management practice and strengthens our ability to work as your trusted financial advisor.

Jason has Bachelors degrees in Finance and Marketing from Bethel University and a Masters of Business and Administration (MBA) from the Carlson School of Business at the University of Minnesota.

Melissa began her career with Northwestern Mutual in May of 2007 and joined Julie’s team in June of 2013. She attended the University of Wisconsin-River Falls receiving a B.S. in Business Administration-Management and currently holds her Series 6, 7 and 63 registrations and Life, Accident and Health license. Melissa prepares and understands each client’s plan in its entirety and helps with implementation of investment strategies. Throughout the year she helps with questions on reallocation of investments, and changes to financial strategies.

Melissa makes Hugo, MN her home with her husband, Steve; sons, Grant (8) and Chase (5); and dog Reggie. Away from work, Melissa enjoys spending time with her family & friends, playing volleyball and softball, watching hockey and being outdoors.

Sam has been with Northwestern Mutual since June of 2011 and joined Julie’s team in 2014.  She graduated from the College of Saint Benedict with a degree in Business Management & Hispanic Studies and currently holds her Series 6, 7, and 63 registrations and Life, Accident and Health, and Long Term Care licenses. Sam’s primary area of focus is the risk management side of the business, overseeing the underwriting and customer service of insurance policies. She works with the client to start the application process and schedule the medical exam, then helps facilitate any ongoing billing questions, beneficiary updates, and policy change transactions after they are in-force. 

Samantha likes to spend her free time with her husband, Kevin and her loveable dog, Lenny. In her free time, she enjoys singing and quilting and likes taking long walks exploring in her city neighborhood as well as at her family farm.
